v2.8.5

  • Cylinder capacities match the spec sheet

Imperial capacities now use the exact convention US manufacturers print: real gas at one atmosphere and 70 °F. An AL80 reads 77.4 cu ft, matching Luxfer's published figure, and the capacity field accepts decimals, so typing the spec-sheet number stores exactly that tank. The public guide now publishes the full compressibility tables with the NIST recipe to reproduce them.

    prompted by ScubaBoard diver feedback

  • Sharper gas math at altitude and on CCR

Plans at altitude now compute gas use from the real surface pressure instead of assuming sea level, which overstated stop gas by up to a fifth at 2,400 m. CCR staged descents charge the loop the right diluent on every leg (deeper legs were under-counted), buoyancy gas weights shed a 1.3% bias, and the SAC readout matches your own gauge arithmetic again. Deco stop schedules are unchanged.

  • Shared plans carry exact cylinder sizes

Share URLs used to round cylinder volumes to a tenth of a litre, so a shared 80 cu ft tank could read 80.2 on the recipient's screen. Plans now carry millilitre-precise sizes, and what you send is exactly what they see. Older app versions keep reading the links as before.

  • A floating glass tab bar

The bottom tab bar is now a compact floating pill with a frosted-glass backdrop that picks up each tool's colour as you move around the app, and the deco planner's stats bar floats just above it. Content gets the full height of the screen and scrolls beneath both.

  • Dive Kit speaks Simplified Chinese

The entire app is now available in Simplified Chinese: every tool, tutorial, checklist, and dive signal, with diving terminology checked against mainland training materials and dedicated CJK typography.

v2.8.4

  • Cylinder entry in your sizing language

Imperial cylinder fields now ask for what US tank names actually mean: capacity and working pressure, so an AL80 is 80 cu ft at 3000 psi and the app derives the water volume through its real-gas model. Metric entry stays water volume in litres, a hint always shows the computed counterpart, and shared plans carry the rating so a recipient sees the same tank. This also fixes a bug where typing “80” into the old water-volume-in-cubic-feet field silently stored a 99-litre cylinder.

  • Clearer gas consumption cards

Each cylinder card now reads at a glance: the gas and its Used figure on one row, the bar, and a labelled Remaining line in the warning colour below. Volumes are larger and dot-separated from pressures, so divers who think in cubic feet are no longer squinting, and one help button on the section title explains every figure, including how CCR loop cylinders are estimated.

layout shaped by ScubaBoard diver feedback

  • Simpler CCR bailout planning

The separate bailout SAC and gradient-factor settings are gone: bailout consumption follows your Deco SRMV and bailout schedules always run the plan's gradient factors, so one set of settings drives the dive and its escape. Bailout gas figures change with this release; use the ascent/deco SRMV selector to size bailout for a stressed exit.

  • Sharper deco profile graph

On the deco planner graph and the shared web preview, the dive profile now lines up with the decompression ceiling all the way up the ascent, instead of looking like it dipped below its own limit. The runtime column also matches MultiDeco to the second, where before it could read a minute or two short.

  • Consistent deco stop times

Deco tables now read consistently from top to bottom. In Minutes mode every time shows whole minutes; in the 1-second and 30-second modes every time shows seconds, so a stop never flips between a bare minute and minutes-with-seconds partway down the table. Text and image slates also keep their columns aligned, including CCR plans with long diluent labels.

v2.8.3

  • More accurate gas math

Gas blending, mixing, cylinders, and gas usage moved from the ideal gas law to a real-gas (compressibility) model built from NIST reference data for oxygen, nitrogen, and helium. The difference is tiny for nitrox but matters for trimix, where an oxygen analyzer cannot catch a helium error, and an “AL80” now reads the ~79 cu ft it really delivers.

  • Decant fills

A new Decant mode in Mix Result and Blend Planner tops one cylinder from another with just a transfill whip, no bank or compressor. Mix Result shows the mix and pressure each cylinder settles at; Blend Planner gives the fill pressure and the reachable mix range when your target is out of reach.

v2.8.2

  • Checklists

Build and run your pre-dive and rebreather checklists right in the app. Each step can carry a countdown or stopwatch and a Notes field for values like cell readings, everything you tick is saved on the spot, and six presets cover JJ-CCR, GUE CHAOS, GUE EDGE and post-dive routines.

v2.8.1

  • Smarter Gradient Factor Handling

Set GF Low and GF High in any order, including inverted pairs like 90/70 that the planner used to snap back. And when a GF High is too low for the plan to ever surface, like air on a 6 m last stop, the engine raises it to the lowest value that completes the deco, flags it with a red warning, and records the gradient factors every export was actually computed with.

v2.8.0

  • MultiDeco-Aligned pO₂ Limits

Set your max pO₂ by each gas's oxygen content instead of one limit for everything. Lean mixes default to 1.4, mid mixes to 1.5, and rich mixes to 1.6, so a lean deep mix switches shallower, just like MultiDeco.

  • Stop-Time Precision Modes

Show deco stop times your way: whole minutes (the new default), 30-second steps, or to the second. Every mode is rounded inside the engine, so the table always matches the schedule you actually dive, and any rounding only ever holds you a little longer.

  • Stepped CCR Setpoints & Dilout Switching

Step your deco setpoint as you ascend, for example 1.4 from the start of deco, 1.5 at 12 m, then 1.6 at 6 m. Switch the loop to one of your OC gases (a dilout) on the way up, with the real setpoint and active mix shown at every stop, and stay on the loop through the shallow stops by default.

  • Continuous Gas Blending

Alongside partial-pressure blending, Gas Blender's new Continuous tab works out flow ratios for rotameter mixing panels and the analyser readings to expect on a two-analyser fill, including the bleed for a top-off, plus a reference table of common nitrox mixes from EAN22 to EAN50.

  • Rebuilt Buoyancy Calculator

Pick your neoprene type and enter your height and weight for a far more realistic estimate of suit lift and lead, with new safety advisories that flag when something looks off.

v2.6.2

  • In-App Subscription Management

Check your plan and renewal date, switch to lifetime access, renew, cancel, or restore purchases, all from a new Subscription screen in Settings.

  • Slate Export Upgrades

Add an optional Remaining Gas column to see cylinder pressure at every stop, pan the preview sideways on narrow phones, and read a cleaner multi-line title (plan / contingency / bailout).

  • Edit Deco Defaults from Settings

Edit your default dive settings straight from Settings, no need to open a plan first, with a clear explainer of how defaults and per-plan overrides work.

  • Imperial Contingencies

Imperial divers now get the familiar +10 ft / +20 ft depth buffers in contingency scenarios.

  • Sharper Bailout Accuracy

Bailout at depth now switches to open circuit exactly where you choose, your custom RMV feeds CCR bailout gas usage, and per-row remaining gas is more accurate on multi-stop dives.

v2.6.1

  • Imperial, Properly

Every input and label in the Deco Planner now follows your unit settings: depth in feet, pressure in psi, volume in cubic feet, rates in feet per minute. No more metric fields with a conversion bolted on.

v2.6.0

  • Custom Contingency Scenarios

Build your own what-if scenarios, drop specific gases, or push a level deeper or longer, and the planner re-runs the full deco schedule so you can compare each against your base plan.

v2.5.1

  • Drag-and-Drop Dive Plan

Long-press any level or gas in your deco plan, drag it into place, drop. Reordering levels triggers a fresh schedule; gases stay aesthetic-only.

  • Live Edit Preview

Add or edit a dive level or gas and see the row update in real time behind the sheet, no more waiting for the sheet to close to see your change.

  • Customizable CCR Defaults

Set your own setpoints, switch depth, and O₂ / diluent cylinder seeds in Edit Defaults. New plans inherit your rig setup automatically.

  • Air Breaks on the CCR Loop

Opt-in oxygen breaks while breathing the loop. Bailout breaks stay independent, so you can mix and match per plan.

  • Every Tool Goes Full-Range

The hidden "gas mode" setting is gone. Best Mix, Gas Planner, RMV, and every other calculator now supports nitrox, trimix, and CCR out of the box.

    after repeated user reports

  • CCR Bailout View Selector

Switch between CCR, Full Bailout, Bailout 6m, or a custom switch depth above the deco table, without touching the underlying plan.

  • Smarter Auto-Gas Selection

Auto-gas now considers ICD (isobaric counter-diffusion) when ranking trimix candidates, picking the He step-down gas your training expects.

  • Tap-to-Explain Stats

Every stat in the deco summary bar opens a focused explanation of what the number means, why it matters, and any related warnings inline.

  • Auto-Saving Edit Sheets

Swipe down or tap outside to save your changes. No Save / Cancel buttons cluttering up the sheets you reach for fifty times per plan.

v2.4.4

  • Travel Time Inside Level Time

A new toggle lets each level's time include the travel to reach it, the way MultiDeco counts a segment, instead of adding the descent or ascent on top.

v2.4.2

  • Clearer Plan Warnings

Warnings now lead with what's wrong in bold and explain why underneath, and a hypoxic-gas warning shows the shallowest depth the mix can safely be breathed at.

    from r/DiveKit feedback

  • ICD Checks via Burton's Rule

Helium step-downs are validated with the Rule of Fifths instead of a flat threshold, so isobaric counter-diffusion warnings reflect what each gas switch actually does.

v2.4.1
